  1. Welcome and Introductions
  2. Approval of Agenda and April 6 minutes
    1. Alvin motions to approve the agenda, Isaac seconds. No objections, motion passes.
    2. Isaac motions to approve the minutes, Vivian seconds. No objections, motion passes.
  3. Funding Modification Request

    2. Brynna says they are asking for a slight reuse of funds
    3. Brynna says that they saw it a way to still use the funds this year
      1. Asking for $3500 of their original allocation to pay undergrads for doing their research based work
    4. Matthew asks if their remaining will be pushed?
      1. Brynna answers that it would be $5150 saved for next year
    5. Matthew and Isaac and May think it is reasonable
    6. Isaac motions for $3500 for them to use the funds and the $5150 to be postponed until in person next year, May seconds. No objections, motion passes.
  4. Discuss last week’s meeting with Asia regarding elections
    1. Brynna recalls the topic of last week’s meeting and asks for thoughts
    2. Matthew recalls that the office themselves decide if the group can decide or go as halfway option one
    3. Lucy says she sent a response email to Asia and the committee to clarify the role SFAC plays in the election policy but says it is an overall good point
    4. Brynna says we can say we would like it if they came or as a way to advertise for them to give a speech about the fee
    5. Brynna says as a member to be familiar with the rules of the fees
    6. Lucy provides this link how the committee should be comprised on what the rules are
      1. Brynna says this is a good resource
    7. Brynna summarizes the response Asia sent out in the email based on the discussion
    8. Isaac comments how he does not anticipate SFAC to suggest many changes to sponsorships
  5. Funding Proposal Discussion

    3. Brynna says we are only 15% over in the budget and shave down some dollars to what we already allocated
    4. Brynna asks for opinions of where SFAC can start reviewing the proposals
      1. Matthew suggests to read them back and forth
    5. Brynna says SFAC is starting with proposal 39 and asked for $84,462, and got $26,383.54.
    6. Isaac suggests to play with number of students and number of mentees
    7. Matthew comments they have other sources of funding and to keep this in mind
      1. Brynna says you can add that to the suggestions for next year to ask them the specific amount of money they will get from other sources
    8. Brynna asks how many students and participants SFAC would like to change
      1. Isaac suggests to reduce it to 16 mentees
      2. Lucy comments how there will be another round of CARES act funding and some units in our division will be eligible for some of that funding. She can’t guarantee SFAC will be eligible but can make a request from Jenifer for additional funds for some of the units in the division
      3. Isaac comments how this seems like a good thing to do
      4. Matthew asks if we can leave a note to the chancellor?
      5. Isaac says this is good since additional funding skills really well
      6. Matthrew asks if we can go the lower amount of 19 with the note of additional funding here?
      7. Issac says yes
      8. Isaac motions to keep the number of mentors the same of 3 and change the number of participants per quarter from 20 to 10, saving about $7000.
      9. Isaac asks if we can see it with 16 paticpatmants with 2 mentors?
        1. Brynna responds with 19 and a half thousand
      10. Matthew suggests how we can give them the 19,000 and note additional funding from the chancellor?
    9. Isaac withdraws proposal
    10. Issac motions to give them $19,000 flat breakdown between mentors and participants and no supplies
      1. Isaac suggests just to say $19,000 flat and no specifics
    11. Isaac motions to fund $19,000 flat, Matthew seconds. No objections, motion approves.
    12. Brynna says to look at #15: iGEM Undergraduate Competition Funds
      1. Issac asks how we arrived at this number
      2. Lisa responds it was for half of the registration
      3. Matthew asks if we can let this one be
      4. Alvin seconds this and does want to destroy it
      5. Brynna asks if anyone wants to reconsider this?
      6. No one answers and now will move on
    13. Brynna say to look at #28 "Pathways to Research (P2R) Program Proposal"
      1. Issac asks if this number matched out to the amount received from other places
      2. Lisa responds funding for one year
      3. Matthew comments how we cut off some expenses and only fund 2000
      4. Matthew motions to fund $20,000 and stipulate it cannot be used to travel, Charlene seconds. No objections, motion passes.
      5. Alvin asks why not fund transportation?
      6. Matthew reponds certain things happens if we funded this and it is more to be consistent
    14. Matthew suggests to look at a proposal to easily scrape out with funds from the big proposals
    15. Brynna says to look at #40 EOP’s Black Men’s Initiative: Sustaining Campus Efforts in and asks for any objection from reconsidering these proposals, no objections.
      1. Isaac asks if we have a record of how we arrived at this number
      2. Lisa responds with student operations
      3. Isaac suggests to reduce it to 10%
      4. Brynna confirms this would be 22,000
      5. Alvin proposes to cutting it down to 20,000
      6. Alvin motions to give them $20,000 flat with no stipulations, Charlene seconds. No objections, motion passes
      7. Matthew asks if the SFAC funded area heavily relies on the SFAC funding, what happens if not granted full amount?
        1. Brynna reponsds it would not
      8. Lisa says $48327 total for now
